About Jason

Jason Hawkins MA PGCE MusB(Hons) LRSM ALCM is an award‑winning UK-based musician delivering electrifying, standout performances that captivate audiences’ imaginations. Jason’s professional credits include collaborations with leading arts organisations such as The Hallé (Hallé Youth Choir, Hallé Youth Orchestra, Hallé Choir), BBC Philharmonic, BBC Singers, The Armonico Consort, The Exon Singers and the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) amongst numerous others.

After several years away from professional music, Jason returned to the industry in 2026 with renewed focus and creative energy. The break gave him space to explore new perspectives and challenges, and his return marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his career.

Jason began his musical journey on a scholarship at Chetham’s School of Music, where he was awarded the Michael Abraham Piano Prize for Piano Sight‑Reading. He continued his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, during which he also became a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM). Jason went on to graduate from The University of Manchester in 2014 with first‑class honours in Music, specialising in Piano and Composition. He later became an Associate of the London College of Music (ALCM) in Composition, completed a PGCE in Primary Education at The University of Cumbria, and achieved a Master’s degree in Education with distinction from University College London, focusing on the impacts of COVID‑19 within musical and choral education.

As a pianist and organist, Jason’s performances have been broadcast on ITV, Irish TV, BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio Cumbria. He has performed extensively across the UK and Europe, appearing at major venues including the Royal Albert Hall (London), The Bridgewater Hall (Manchester), Symphony Hall (Birmingham), The Sage (Gateshead), Mechelen Cathedral (Belgium),  The American Cathedral (Paris) and Disneyland Paris, amongst many others.

​Jason has been in demand across the UK as a choral conductor, choral animateur and musical director, active across classical music, musical theatre, church and educational settings. He has held a wide range of Director of Music, Organist and Choirmaster positions within major parishes across the Church of England, the Church of Scotland and the Methodist Circuit.

As a fully qualified and registered teacher, Jason draws on two decades of experience teaching Piano, Organ and Music Theory at every stage of musical development, from young beginners to advanced university and conservatoire students.
